GeminiTax forms
Gemini tax forms: 1099-DA and 1099-MISC cover crypto, and none covers Gemini Predictions
As of November 3, 2026, Gemini lists three tax documents for US customers: Form 1099-DA for digital-asset sales, a Gain/Loss Statement it does not send to the IRS, and Form 1099-MISC for rewards. Those articles were last updated January 21, 2026 and describe 2025 activity. None names Gemini Predictions, and the Predictions FAQ gives no tax guidance. A Gemini Predictions year is built from your own records.

The IRS
Does Gemini report Gemini Predictions trades to the IRS?
No form Gemini lists covers them.
Gemini’s tax articles list Form 1099-DA, a Gain/Loss Statement and Form 1099-MISC. None mentions prediction contracts or event contracts. Gemini has not said it sends the IRS any form for Gemini Predictions. A missing form does not change whether a gain is taxable: gross income covers income from any source under IRC §61.

Form 1099-DA and the Gain/Loss Statement, available February 15
Gemini issues Form 1099-DA when you sold, converted or otherwise disposed of digital assets on Gemini. It is available for eligible accounts on February 15. The Gain/Loss Statement is “provided for your reference; not sent to the IRS”, and also goes to taxable entities not eligible for a 1099-DA, mainly C corporations. Gemini applies first in, first out to sales of digital assets when no method is chosen.
Form 1099-MISC by January 31: more than $600, then $2,000 for 2026
IRS Form 1099-MISC instructions
Gemini issues Form 1099-MISC by January 31 for staking, Refer a Friend, sign-up and trading bonuses, and stablecoin rewards of more than $600, rising to $2,000 for 2026 transactions.
What Gemini lists, and what it doesn’t
Gemini lists no Form 1099-B among the documents it issues. On Form 8949 its articles are explicit: “Gemini does not prepare or issue Form 8949”. Gemini’s tax articles do not name Form 6781. The forms that do exist sit under Settings, Statements & Taxes, Taxes.

Why
Why do Gemini’s crypto forms stop at a Gemini Titan event contract?
Gemini’s crypto forms are written for digital-asset sales, and a Predictions contract is bought with the USD balance.
Gemini Predictions runs on Gemini Titan, LLC, a CFTC-designated contract market. A spot account trades predictions from its USD balance. Buying a contract sells no crypto, so it creates no 1099-DA line.
Gemini’s only tax line for Predictions is its FAQ answer: “Gemini does not provide tax or accounting advice. Please consult your own tax advisor regarding your specific circumstances.” That is what its pages list, not an IRS rule about the contracts.

Records
What Gemini Predictions records exist? Transaction History and one year of settled positions.
With no form, the year is rebuilt from what Gemini keeps.
Transaction History, on web and mobile
Gemini says predictions and payouts appear in Transaction History. Its download steps:
- Web: Account, Settings, Statements and taxes, Transaction history. Press download for Exchange Transaction History and set the date range.
- Mobile: Account, Transaction history. Select a year and download Exchange Transaction History.
The settled-positions API: payout, cost basis and P&L, past year only
Gemini’s API returns settled positions with payout, cost basis and profit or loss, and names tax reporting as a use. “Results are limited to the past year.” Order history by UTC day needs a key with the Trader role.
TurboTax and CoinTracker read Gemini’s crypto forms
TurboTax imports Gemini’s tax forms through an API key, and Gemini calls CoinTracker “a preferred crypto tax partner”. Neither page mentions prediction contracts.

- Transaction history, mobile

- Settled positions

On a return
Where do Gemini Predictions trades go on a return with no 1099-B?
It depends on the way the year is filed.
There is no IRS guidance on how event contracts are taxed. Of the people we’ve seen file, three ways are most common: standard capital on Form 8949 and Schedule D, Section 1256 on Form 6781, and gambling on Schedule 1. Gemini Predictions taxes sets them side by side on one winning and one losing year, and Gemini Predictions legal status covers the states that have acted.
