No 1099
Why Robinhood says it provides no 1099 for event contracts.
Robinhood ties it to the absence of IRS guidance.
Robinhood’s event contract tax article says “Robinhood doesn’t provide a 1099 for event contract trades”. On IRS reporting, the answer is no: “Event contract trades aren’t reported to the IRS by Robinhood”. It ties both to one fact: “The IRS hasn’t issued specific guidance on the tax implications of trading event contracts”. The trades are still income in the year they close; how the three common filing routes handle a year with no form is in Robinhood taxes.

Annual statement
The event contracts annual statement: what it lists and when it arrives.
One statement per calendar year, after the year closes.
The statement arrives typically late January or early February: each trade, closing dates, costs, proceeds, fees and commissions, net P&L. In the app it sits under Account, then Reports and statements, then Annual reports. Robinhood lists its contents as: individual event contract transactions, closing dates, costs, proceeds, fees and commissions, net profits and losses.
In the same article Robinhood says “The annual statement is not a substitute tax reporting form”, and that it is “the authoritative record of all costs, proceeds, and net P&L for the year”. A December 31 value for a contract still open is not among the annual statement contents Robinhood lists.
Timing against the consolidated 1099
The consolidated 1099 for other accounts was due February 17, 2026 for tax year 2025. The event contracts statement runs on its own clock, typically late January or early February, so a Robinhood customer with stocks, futures and event contracts can have the event contract figures before or after the rest.
