NovigFees

Novig fees: one taker formula, four products, worked at 62¢.

As of October 22, 2026, Novig charges the taker c × P × (1 − P) × N on each fill and charges the maker nothing. Pre-game straights pay $0; live straights and futures use c = 0.06, parlays 0.10. Buying 250 contracts at 62¢ in game costs $3.534 in fees, and the maker on the other side earns a $0.8835 Maker Credit.

Formula

How is the Novig fee calculated?

One formula for every product. Only the coefficient c changes.

Novig’s fee docs set the fee for one fill as c × P × (1 − P) × N. P is the execution price of the fill as a fraction of $1, not the limit price you entered. N is the number of contracts, each paying $1.00 if it wins. The taker pays it; the maker pays nothing.

P × (1 − P) is largest at 50¢ and shrinks toward either end, so a fill near 50¢ pays the most per contract and a long shot or a near-certainty pays little. At 62¢ and c = 0.06, the fee is 1.4136¢ per contract before any rounding.

Five decimal places, no minimum

The fee docs say fees are charged exactly, to five decimal places with half-up rounding, with no minimum and no rounding up to the next cent. One contract at 62¢ in game is charged $0.01414, not rounded up to two cents.

By product

What does Novig charge on pre-game, live, futures and parlay trades?

The coefficient depends on the product and, for straights, on whether the game has started.

ProductWhat Novig charges
Pre-game straight trades$0
Live straight tradesTaker coefficient 0.06 on every straight contract since October 15, 2026, applied while the event is in game
FuturesTaker coefficient 0.06; golf and tennis futures carry no fee since September 10, 2026
Parlays and request-for-quote tradesCoefficient 0.10, taker only; for parlays it is already included in the quoted price
From Novig’s fee docs and its Help Center fee article, read October 22, 2026.

A straight is charged only while the event is in game. The same contract bought before kickoff pays nothing, so one market can carry fee-free and fee-paying fills from the same trader on the same day. A parlay’s fee is not shown as a separate line: the Help Center fee article says it is already included in the quoted price.

The live and futures columns carry the same fee because both use c = 0.06; they differ in the credit the maker earns. A golf or tennis future at the same price pays no fee and earns no credit. A UFC, F1 or NASCAR future pays the fee, but the Maker Credit Program excludes those leagues, so its maker earns no credit. The pre-game column has no credit because the credit is a share of a fee, and no fee was collected.

0.03 or 0.06

Is the Novig live fee 0.03 or 0.06? Two Novig pages disagree.

Novig has not reconciled the two figures, or a second difference in how an order is priced.

The fee docs and the fee schedule in the Help Center fee article give the live coefficient as 0.06. A question further down the same Help Center article, on fills spread across several price levels, gives a different live coefficient, quoted below. Every figure on this page is computed at 0.06, the rate the fee docs use in their own worked examples. At 0.03, the live fee in the worked fill above would be half as large.

Per fill, or once per order?

The two sources also differ on an order that fills at several prices. The fee docs say each fill is priced independently, so a partly filled order accrues one fee per fill. The Help Center’s answer charges such an order once, at the volume-weighted average price of its fills, on its total contracts. Because P × (1 − P) is curved, the two methods can give slightly different totals, and Novig has not said which one applies. This page prices one fill at one price, where both give the same figure.

Maker Credits

How Novig Maker Credits work, and the rates from October 22, 2026.

A share of the taker’s fee, paid to the maker in cash. The rates changed on October 22, 2026.

The Maker Credit Program pays the resting side of a fill a percentage of the fee the taker actually paid. In live markets that is 25%; on eligible futures, 50%. A live credit accrues only on fills matched while the game is in progress, and a futures credit on any fill. In the worked fill above, the maker earns $0.8835 live and $1.767 as a future.

The program’s terms say rates can change by notice. Novig credits the cash within seven calendar days of the trade, so a fill late in December can be credited in January.

Other money

Referral Credits, Early Payout and Fair Value Settlement: Novig money that is not a fee.

Three ways money moves on Novig with no fee line, and the balance that mixes them.

These sit beside fees in an account’s activity and are easy to read as fees or refunds. A Referral Credit is promotional credit that cannot be withdrawn. With opposing positions on one game, an Early Payout credits before the game ends the part of the payout that is the same whichever side wins; Novig lists it as Instant Payout. A Fair Value Settlement is the price a contract settles at when it can no longer resolve, and Novig calls it a settlement, not a refund. Novig’s Portfolio Balance adds cash, open positions and trade credits together, so it is not a trading result.

How are Novig fees calculated?
As of October 22, 2026, Novig’s fee docs set the fee at c × P × (1 − P) × N, charged to the taker; no maker fee. P is the execution price and N the number of contracts. With c at 0.06, 250 contracts bought at 62¢ during a game cost $3.534 in fees. Charged to five decimal places, with no minimum fee.
Does Novig charge a fee on pre-game trades?
Novig’s Help Center fee schedule lists pre-game straight trades at $0, for both the maker and the taker. The fee applies to live straights, futures and parlays.

Is the Novig live fee coefficient 0.03 or 0.06?
The Help Center fee FAQ on volume-weighted pricing gives a live coefficient of 0.03, which differs from the 0.06 in the fee docs and the Help Center schedule. Novig’s fee docs state the 0.06 rate and work their examples at it, and this guide computes at 0.06.
